Spring Hill Tournament Champions
By going 2-0 in pool play and 2-0 in bracket play, the Colt 45's won the Spring Hill "Hooked on Baseball" tournament on Saturday. Strong play by all team members allowed the team to go unbeaten in the tournament. The Tournament Final was a hard fought game against host team Spring Hill Horns. The game went 6 innings with the Colt 45's edging out a close 5-4 victory.

Brady Barton Tournament
The Colt 45's entered the Brady Barton Tournament held in Carthage, TX on Aug. 2-3. The team came in second place with an overall record of 2-2.

Deep East Texas 9U Champions!
The Colt 45's finished in first place in league play and won the World Series tournament to become champions of the Deep East Texas 9U Spring 2008 Season.

I wish I could have met my great grandfather (Judge Wesley Welsh) who signed on with the St. Louis Cardinals as a pitcher in the 1930's. His pro career ended just as it was beginning because of a car wreck.
